Fifth Edition of the CBCS Best Economic Research Award (2024-2025)
The CBCS is launching the 5th edition of the Best Economic Research Award (BERA) for HAVO, VWO, Bachelor and Master level students in 2024-2025. Final-year HAVO and VWO students from Curaçao and Sint Maarten are invited to submit research papers on topics relevant to the monetary union’s economies. The competition also welcomes international bachelor’s and master’s students who have written theses between 2023 and 2025 on small island economies.
HAVO & VWO | Goal & Prizes
For HAVO and WVO students, the goal is to promote interest in economic research among students in Curaçao and Sint Maarten, with the hope of encouraging them to pursue studies in economics. The winning projects in these two categories will be awarded Cg. 2.500 and a trophy, while the winning school will receive Cg. 5.000 and a trophy.
Bachelor & Masters | Goal & Prizes
At the Bachelor and Master levels, the aim is to encourage research focused on small island economies, especially those of Curaçao and Sint Maarten. The Bachelor’s winner will receive a prize of Cg. 5.000 and the master’s winner will be awarded Cg. 7.500. Both will also receive a trophy.
