Introduction
The Resolution division is in charge of (escalating) intervention and enforcement, in case of serious, persistent and/or multiple problems at financial institutions. To address these, Resolution makes use of an alternative approach and/or stricter measures, such as silent trustees, aiming at recovery. In the event of (risk of) discontinuity an institution can be restructured or wound up, whether or not in the context of an emergency scheme. Resolution may initiate reassessment of policymakers & experts and administrative, criminal & civil sanctions, aiming at compensation and/or compliance.
