ANNOUNCEMENT
On May 15, 2024, the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS) filed a petition for bankruptcy with the Court of First Instance in Curaçao in accordance with Article 37 of the National Ordinance on the Supervision of Banking and Credit Institutions (Landsverordening toezicht bank- en kredietwezen) in respect of the public limited companies Banco Consolidado N.V. and Banco Principal N.V., both of which have been subject to the emergency regulation since 1994 and 1995, respectively.
The Court of First Instance in Curaçao, by order of May 23, 2024, declared the bankruptcy of the aforementioned legal persons, appointing V. Maria, LL.M. and R. Luttikhuizen, LL.M., as trustees.
The public limited companies Banco Latino N.V. and Interunion Bank (Antilles) N.V. have also been under emergency regulations since 1994 and 1996, respectively. Both institutions are currently in the process of winding up their operations.
These are longstanding cases that the CBCS is diligently pursuing for their appropriate resolution, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
